Value vs Price
Alas we are but fools of the neoliberal era that know the price of everything and the value of nothing. With $Earth we aim to rectify this for the enormous value our ecology provides. Rather than waiting for the market to become wiser and gradually over time start to understand the value that our ecology provides we flipped this. Solarpunks who mint $Earth at the protocol do so ascribing a premium to the dollar value of the treasury assets that back $Earth. So when you mint 100 $Earth priced at $10 when the mint multiple is 2, you have paid a premium to the value of assets in the treasury as counted for in the current system. You do this to start putting a price on the value of things like -
Importance/urgency of addressing climate change
Improving soil health
Making our air & water cleaner
Increasing biodiversity on our planet
Increasing nutrient density in our food
Building the solarpunk paradigm
Building a monetary system backed by climate solutions
Regenerating our natural ecosystems
Subsidising regenerative business models
Rewarding planet positive actions
Increasing overall well being of society
Creating a new unit of value beyond the petro $
Etc etc
The fact that you Solarpunk would agree to the price of creating these positive externalities by paying a premium to the dollar value will directy ensure more of this created. For the skeptics here it is also important to understand that when you pay the premium at the protocol, the additional $Earth harvested because of that premium are used to create additional value for $Earth holders only by -
Incentivizing long term holders (APY)
Creating a $Earth/$Dai LP that is owned by the protocol
Rewarding partners for actions that are aligned with our mission
Burning it to increase Intrinsic Value backing of each $Earth
Compensating SolarpunkDao contributors
Rewarding $Earth holders for going over and above their duties (Bonus)
